The Commonwealth Games
Did you know we supported the local Birmingham area with the Commonwealth Games?
Working with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), Canwell undertook a whole host of works including the Local Area Traffic Management & Parking designs that were required to support traffic operations for each games event, accommodation, training, and support venue, for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Their attention to detail and delivery to the programme’s deadlines ensured that the Games achieved highway improvements that benefited journey time consistency across the West Midlands and protected the road network around competition venues during the tournament.
The Games has received high praise throughout the World, making it one the most success Commonwealth games ever. With record spectator tickets sales of 1.5million, the Games saw more than five million people travelling to Birmingham and Canwell’s team played a significant role in the successful delivery of transport operations for the Games."
