Highways & Transport (Private Sector)
Canwell Ltd has extensive experience of working with the private sector on the design and construction of highways scheme measures to meet the requirements of Section 278 agreements.
We will work closely with the private developer and the Local Authority to agree a workable and cost-effective highway design solution for the successful delivery of the developers’ overall project.
We will engage with the developers’ team and associated parties involved on the project (e.g., architects and other consultants) to deliver cost-effective solutions.
Our team will seek early engagement with the Local Authority to review approved planning drawings and identify and resolve any engineering issues. Thereafter, we will work towards gaining Local Authority approvals.
Typical works delivered under S278 agreements have included design and implementation of : New/Improved junction schemes; Highway alignment/roadway alteration schemes; New traffic signal junctions/crossings, New/Improved facilities for cyclists and/or pedestrians; Street lighting improvements, Traffic Regulation Order measures; Traffic management/ road safety measures.
